large table

prop construction

This particular table was constructed for a show called 'Benefactors' in London's West End.

Constructed from red pinewood, the table measures 7 feet by 4 feet and has two lipped drawers and turned legs.

The unusual finish consists of one coat of vandyke crystals to give a darker stained look, followed by a coat of antique pine wax, brushed on and buffed to age it further in colour. This gives the table a mellow, subtle patina rather than the raw yellow of the pine.
